High Street Festival Style 2018 For Him And Her!

Summer is fast approaching, which means festival season is just around the corner. For the fashion-conscious, these live events are about more than just the music; they’re about experimenting with style, trying out new trends and creating Insta-worthy looks for the ‘gram’. If Coachella (also known as #Bey-chella) was anything to go by, then we know this festival season is shaping up to be a stylish gathering where no fashion rules apply.

With Let’s Rock The North East, in Herrington Park, and Sunniside Live, in Sunderland, coming to the region very soon, I thought this was the perfect opportunity to discuss festival fashion on the high street and what styles have that double-tap appeal…

Pack It Up
No wheelbarrows, or suitcases in sight. This festival season it’s about the oversized backpack, or the mini, but mighty bumbag. Both of these options are perfect when you have a drink in one hand and your phone in the other, jumping around to whoever is on stage.

Denim Detailing

The denim jacket is a music festival staple. They’re impervious to the trend cycle and have likely been apart of your wardrobe for years. This summer you can keep things simple with a denim style that’s crisp and classic, or opt for embroidery, frills and other detailing. Before you decide, remember more is more.

Tops With Texture

During Coachella we saw this particular style fill up our feeds and fast. It’s outfits that are a combination of textures. This clash of fabrics and frills is certainly a fashion option that’s given us all the feels.

Eye Candy
Shades aren’t only a staple accessory in the summer, but they are also very practical, especially if you’re attending a three-day music event. Late nights and long days can take its toll on the eyes, but with a pair of sunnies (the bigger the better) you can look effortlessly fresh and super-cool.

Photography Props

Whichever festival you venture to a whole host of photography opportunities awaits. So, be prepared with a wealth of props. From giant glow sticks to metallic headwear, the options are endless – just make sure you pack your selfie stick!
