Chris Mullen book signing

Date of Event: 21/03/2009 - 21/03/2009

Sunderland South MP Chris Mullin will be signing copies of his diaries, A View from the Foothills, at Waterstone’s Sunderland this Saturday from 11.30-12.30.

Chris Mullin has been the MP for Sunderland South for over 20 years, during which time he has served as a minister in three departments, Environment, International Development and the Foreign Office, all this despite having voted against the Iraq war.

Chris writes a column in the Sunderland Echo, and is perhaps best known as the author of A Very British Coup, a novel which was made into an award-winning television drama series. He was also a major player in the campaign for the release of the innocent people convicted of the Birmingham pub bombings, a case which changed the face of British justice. Witty, incisive and highly entertaining, his diaries describe this unusual political career with his trademark eye for detail and keen sense of the ridiculous.

A View from the Foothills is currently Radio 4’s Book of the Week, and an interview with Chris, filmed at Waterstone’s Sunderland, appeared on The Politics Show last Sunday.

Call Waterstone's on 0191 5674331 to reserve your signed copy.
